We started the weekend by heading out to Hood Canal to meet up with the Giles side of my family (mom's). It seems we have a tradition going for each year heading out for a sunny Saturday filled with family, food, drinks, swimming, boating etc. Almost everyone made it out but we missed Kenny, Colin & Riley. After a day filled with sun and swimming, we ate a delicious feast right off the beach filled with mussels, calms, crab and oysters. It was so fresh, healthy and really, really good! We finished the meal off with some local ice cream including Lemon Cream Pie and Blackberry Cheesecake.

Around 7p or so, Nathan and I headed out to Westport to meet up with Leeza & Lorence to camp & surf. We made it there in about 1 hour and had just enough time to set up our tent before it got dark. We stayed up by the fire until around 12am roasting marshmellows, drinking and catching up, meeting new friends. As soon as we got in our tent, it started to downpour and continued to the whole night. Luckily, our cheap $24 Fred Meyer tent kept us dry. We woke up and hit the beach for some surfing. Great weekend and we even got home in time to prep for the weekend and finish off 5 loads of laundry.
