Deck refresh - complete, finally!

Every time Nathan and I start a project we imagine it taking a couple days and only 1/4 the supplies we are actually going to end up using. I'm not sure why we haven't figured it out yet and started to at least overcompensate in case. Oh, well - maybe next time. I mentioned that we were staining our deck a new color back http://magnoliahighlife.blogspot.com/2011/06/deck-makeover.html">here and after several weeks and evenings after work, it's finally done. It took 8 gallons of Oxford Brown stain and with the weather we've been having, it was harder to get the staining done. You can't stain in the rain and if it's too hot, it dries sticky. Each side rail rung, took 3 coats alone! Needless to say, I'm really glad this is over and we are very happy with how it turned out. However, the dark color shows dust and dirt quite easily so that is the only downside. Otherwise, we love the color and how it goes with the house.

The patio cushions are all messed up because we do that to keep the rain from settling in puddles :) The white wall behind is our garage which needs to be painted next!

  1. Looks great!! You can add links to your post when you're in html mode. You just highlight the word you want to have a link attached too, and then you click a button on the toolbar, I think it's next to the "insert photo" button. I can show you!
