I was lucky enough to spend the whole weekend with my brother which I was grateful for since he is flying off to NYC tomorrow to start his Master's program. I'll miss him for the next two years and hope that he makes his way back to Seattle soon! We'll be visiting for sure sometime next year. On Friday night, he took me to Pam's Kitchen which is on the Ave in the UDistrict. It's Trinadad food - I had no clue what to expect but he always says it's so good. We walked in and it's a relatively small place and was very crowded. It had a Jamacian look to it which I would imagine is similar to looks in Trinidad. We waited about 20 minutes but they served us drinks while we waited. We both had curried chicken roti - I ordered DAHLPURI with mine and he ordered PARATHA. It's basically like a tortilla or bread of some kind that you use to eat with your meat and sides. It's similar to what I've seen with Ethopian or Indian food; just a slightly different texture and taste. We had beers and their famous rum punch for drinks. The food was delicious; service fantastic and drinks delicious - highly recommend!
We should all go there soon! I bet Tony has never had Trinidad food before. I recently discovered I like Indian food so I bet I would like this type of food too.
