Sheena, Nathan and I went to Revel last night in Fremont. They classify themselves as urban Korean comfort food. The owners of Revel also own Joule in Wallingford which is delicious. We got to Revel around 6pm and were hoping for an outside table, but they were pretty busy so we settled for a seat at the kitchen bar right in front of all the action. The ambiance is very nice inside - pretty clean and modern. We started off with drinks - Sheena (Belgium beer), Nathan (IPA) and (Prosecco). Then moved on to food - Sheena got the Albacore tuna, fennel kimchi, escarole rice & egg yolk; Nathan had to order the meat platter (he can't survive without meat) which was fired on an apple smoked grill - it came with pork belly, ham and sausage. The two of us shared the Tuna confit, smoked potato, green curry vinaigrette salad which was tangy and full of flavor. I ended up going with the potato and sweet pea dumpling. It was good, but the spices on the side is what really got it going for me. The food was great, it's a little pricey but worth it to me.
