Last Saturday, our best bud, Neha came to visit. We ended up visiting at our house for a couple hours and by the time we left to find food, it was almost 9pm. We started off by going to Revel which had a 2 hour wait, then we went to Uneeda Burger and they closed 6 min before we got at 9pm?! As Nathan said many times, "who closes at 9p when they sell beer?" That really made us mad because we all had decided a burger sounded really good. From there, we ventured up to Phinney and went to Oliver's Twist. They had a 2 seater open that we easily squeezed to 3. However, when we opened the menu, we decided that there wasn't enough choices or real dinner food. Most of it was appetizers and around $8 a pop so we decided to leave. Feeling very hungry and a little frustrated, we wandered down the street and ended up at El Chupacabra which is a bar/restaurant in an old house. There were two crazy waitresses there who were obviously having a bad night and just plain rude to the customers because they were so stressed. After waiting about 10 minutes, we were seated and the guy that served us was much more calm. We got our food and mine was pretty good - we all ate because we were starving. I would probably not go back and not recommend it. Between the servers, the weird smell inside and the ok food, it's best to try somewhere else. Maybe if you were really drunk or hungover, it could be a good place :-)
Wow you guys were unlucky with your restaurant choices that night!! I hate when I'm hungry and can't find anything good to eat. Thanks for the warning about Chupacabra! :)
