Dinner @ La Spiga

Last Friday Nathan and I went to La Spiga on 15th on Capitol Hill. I won a pretty good size gift certificate at my company party so we decided to use some of it and have a date night after a venue meeting at Pravda. La Spiga lives in a huge, beautiful building with exposed beams and rich wood. The place must be very popular because otherwise I'm not sure how they could stay in business considering the size of space and how much the rent must be. They have a small little outdoor patio that looks really nice, too.

Gnocco Fritto con Accompagnamenti - Fried Emilian flat bread prosciutto, robiola fresca cheese, arugula and sottoaceti - good:

Salad on Left - Insalata Mista della Casa (aka house salad) - good

Soup - cold radicchio- really bad :/

Salad on Right/Front - Radicchio Trevigiano con Fossa - Grilled radicchio, anged balsamic, shaved sheep chesse - very good

Gnocchi al Pomodoro - good

Stinco di Maiale al Forno - beer roasted Korabuta pork hind shank, rosemary roasted potatoes - very good per fiance

Overall, it was a really nice meal - I probably wouldn't go back only because there are too many restaurants that I haven't tried!
