Wedding planning 101

I thought for sure I was going to be a professional wedding photographer when I grew up, but now, after planning my own, I'm not so sure. There are SO many details to cover and I've made more lists than I know what to do with. Here's an update of the things I've checked off my list within the first few months of getting engaged:

The Venue - Pravda Studios - exactly what I was looking for! Thanks to my fiance's amazing negotiating skills, we were able to come to an agreement that worked.

The Flowers - Patty Smith - she has done at least 7 other weddings that I've been to and I knew I wanted her to do mine. After about a month of not hearing from her, I started to freak out, but she returned my call, just in time.

The Dress - it's not the type of dress I went out looking for and not the type I tried on in front of my friends and family. After not being successful at the first few places, I decided to go to Bellevue on my own to a couple other stores. I ended up trying on dresses that were completely different styles from the ones the prior week. I was excited when I put the dress on, but confused because no one was there to see me in it. After weeks of thinking of that dress, I went back and it was the "ONE".

The Photographer - we met Christy towards the beginning of our relationship and she worked with us during one of TAG body spray campaigns while attending school at PLU. Once graduated, she started her professional photography career and we knew we wanted her to be part of our special day. Check out her work here: http://www.christypelland.com/

Although I've made some progress, there's plenty of things to be done.

Next up -
-Finalizing the bridesmaids dresses
-Catering: we know the vendor, just need to figure out the details and pay a deposit, of course :)
-Book the DJ
